The Promise theatre performance features elements of Japanese Noh theatre and shadow theatre. It presents the destiny of Leonard, a disabled young musician who is taken in the special care of a mysterious teacher. It is said that before coming into this world, each soul chooses a mission. In order to fulfil this mission one needs an initiation. Leonard will receive the initiation from a beautiful enchanting being who belongs to a higher, celestial world which in the Indian tradition is known as the world of Apsaras. But will Leonard be able to act wisely and remain faithful to the initiation that presupposes responsibility and morality, or will he be seduced by the ephemeral but fascinating worldly success? Will Leonard be able to keep his promise?
